Job summary

The Australian Electoral Commission is seeking a ServiceNow Software Engineer (Developer) to deliver hands-on development across ITSM, HRSD and CSM. The role requires active security clearance and a hybrid work arrangement based in Canberra, with the National Office as the primary location.

The successful candidate will work within an agile team, delivering secure, scalable ServiceNow solutions, while coordinating with product owners, business analysts and operations to meet delivery timelines

Qualifications

Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
Demonstrated, hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer delivering configuration and custom development within enterprise environments.
Experience across the full ServiceNow development lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, deployment and post‑implementation support.
Strong skills in ServiceNow scripting and development technologies: JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies and Flow Designer.

Responsibilities

Perform coding (JavaScript) and configuration (Flow Designer, UI Builder, Business Rules) on the ServiceNow platform.
Collaborate with business analysts and designers to translate requirements into working solutions.
Enhance existing ServiceNow applications and modules.
Work in an agile delivery team following agile ceremonies.
Document all technical designs, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
Develop best practices for ServiceNow development and integration with external systems.
