Job summary

Cappro Pacific is seeking a hands-on Senior Service Technician / Workshop Manager to oversee workshop operations for earthmoving equipment and support a small technical team. The role focuses on delivering outstanding service and customer support in a fast-paced environment.

This position is predominantly office-based (about 80%) with 20% hands-on work, emphasizing planning, job coordination, customer communication and workshop performance while offering technical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified as Cert 3 Heavy mobile plant mechanic.
• Experience as Service Manager or Senior Technician in heavy equipment sectors.
• Strong organisational and administrative capabilities (quoting, work orders, invoicing).
• Ability to lead and mentor a small team and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations, prioritise service jobs and PMs.
• Lead two technicians and one apprentice, improving productivity.
• Provide fault diagnosis and troubleshooting support for mobile equipment.
• Coordinate servicing, breakdowns, warranty claims and escalations.
• Prepare quotes, work orders, reports and invoicing.
• Monitor labour utilisation, costs and turnaround times.
• Manage parts ordering and liaise with suppliers to minimise downtime.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and continuous improvement.
