Job summary

Cappro Pacific in Australia seeks a hands-on Senior Service Technician / Workshop Manager for earthmoving equipment. You will oversee a small service team, coordinate daily workshop operations and provide technical support to keep customer machines running.

The role is predominantly office-based (80%) with 20% hands-on field work, offering planning, job coordination and strong customer communication. A Cert 3 Heavy Mobile Plant Mechanic is required; travel may include interstate trips and one

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Manager or Workshop Manager in heavy equipment sectors.
• You must be trade qualified as Cert 3 Heavy mobile plant mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge for diagnosing faults.
• Experience coordinating workshop activities and maintaining service standards.
• Good organisational and administrative skills for quotes and invoicing.
• Ability to lead, mentor and motivate a small team; strong customer focus.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Experience with waste handling or mobile industrial equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and prioritise service jobs, repairs and maintenance.
• Lead a small team of two technicians and one apprentice; drive productivity.
• Provide technical guidance, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting for equipment.
• Coordinate servicing, breakdowns, warranty claims and escalations with manufacturers.
• Manage customer enquiries, service requests and communications.
• Prepare quotations, work orders, and service reports; assist invoicing.
• Monitor productivity, labour utilisation and job costs for efficiency.
• Coordinate parts ordering to minimise downtime.
• Maintain safety standards and comply with procedures.
