AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer based in North Queensland (Rockhampton or Mackay preferred) to lead drainage and flood projects within a global infrastructure consultancy. This role suits engineers with 5–15 years of experience, strong modelling skills, and a passion for technical leadership.

You will work on major infrastructure projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to design, reporting and client engagement, with hybrid work options and relocation support if needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated drainage/flood modelling experience (5–15 years) across major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to plan hydraulic assessments and design of drainage networks.
• Experience leading design reviews, mentoring, and client engagement.

Responsabilités

• Deliver drainage designs, stormwater plans and hydraulic assessments for major projects.
• Provide input into hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using Civil3D, 12D, TUFLOW, and related tools.
• Develop practical solutions to drainage, flooding and water quality challenges.
• Produce high-quality technical and non-technical reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project teams to win work and meet client needs.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to provide trusted technical advice.
• Ensure alignment with Australian standards and guidelines.
