Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer with a background in drainage and/or flooding to join our Rockhampton or Mackay offices. This hybrid role supports domestic relocation and offers the chance to work on major infrastructure projects with multidisciplinary teams.

You will deliver drainage designs using 12D, hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, and mentor engineers while engaging with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Proven drainage/flood modelling experience (5–15+ years).
• RPEQ or eligible to apply for RPEQ.
• Experience in planning, hydraulic assessment and design of stormwater networks.
• Strong skills in Civil3D and 12D, with hydraulic modelling tools.
• Experience on large infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Commercial awareness and project delivery understanding.

Responsibilities

• Technical delivery of drainage and flood engineering projects for major infrastructure and development sectors.
• Shape design approaches and solve complex drainage, hydraulic and hydrologic challenges.
• Deliver drainage designs using 12D and prepare stormwater management plans.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to project delivery, client engagement, and winning work.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to provide trusted advice.
• Ensure alignment with Australian standards and guidelines.
• Contribute to technical excellence initiatives and stay current with tools/regulatory changes.
