Job summary

MetLife Australia is seeking an experienced underwriter to assess new business, additions and alterations across risk products within delegated authority. The role includes mentoring underwriters, over-authority checks, and developing guidelines with the technical underwriting team.

You will underwrite across product lines for retail, group and corporate segments, while maintaining strong relationships with advisers and brokers.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of underwriting experience across all risk types (retail, group and Corporate).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and coach underwriters and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess new business, additions, alterations and other transactions within delegated authority.
• Underwrite across all product lines and benefits per standards and targets.
• Mentor underwriters, perform over-authority checks and develop guidelines with the technical underwriting team.
• Provide coaching, training and technical guidance to staff.
• Build relationships with advisers, brokers, reinsurers and service providers.
