Job summary

AIG in Australia is seeking a Senior Underwriter to strengthen our Financial Lines team. You will underwrite new and renewal business, maintain broker relationships, and play a key role in steering profitability for the portfolio.

You will mentor colleagues, present to brokers with confidence, and lead complex underwriting projects such as broker tenders. This role offers in-office collaboration and avenues for ongoing professional development within a global insurer.

Qualifications

• Proven track record demonstrating strong sales skills and brokerage market understanding.
• Analytical skills to manage broker profitability with Financial Lines leadership.
• Insurance qualifications (ANZIIF Senior Associate or equivalent) and Financial Lines experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate files and records for management reporting and policy issuance.
• Underwrite new and renewal business according to guidelines and authority.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge with brokers.
• Deliver professional broker presentations.
• Lead complex underwriting projects such as broker tenders.
• Maintain relationships with producing brokers and assist in portfolio decisions after actuarial reviews.
