Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Allocator to coordinate a heavy vehicle fleet across the ACT and regional NSW. You will manage approximately 15 drivers, ensuring efficient scheduling and real-time adjustments to the transport plan.

The role demands hands-on allocation thinking, strong commercial awareness and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. Hybrid work возможен, with a 7:00am–4:00pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous heavy vehicle transport allocation experience is essential.
• Ability to plan and adjust allocations around changing requirements.
• Strong communication and driver management skills.
• Knowledge of fatigue, mass and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• Proficient with Excel and transport systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily and forward heavy vehicle movements.
• Coordinate drivers and act as their primary contact for day-to-day operations.
• Monitor fleet movements, delays and turnaround times and follow up where required.
• Maximise fleet utilisation and identify backloading opportunities.
• Adjust allocations around changing operational requirements and driver hours.
• Coordinate truck availability with maintenance teams.
• Maintain records and required transport documentation.
• Communicate movements and scheduling with internal sites and external locations.

An established business is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Allocator to coordinate a heavy vehicle fleet operating across the ACT and regional NSW.

This is a hands‑on allocation role requiring strong logistical thinking, commercial awareness and the ability to manage a transport plan that can change throughout the day. You will coordinate approximately 15 drivers and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to keep the fleet productive and efficiently positioned.

You will coordinate approximately 15 drivers and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to keep the fleet productive and efficiently positioned.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily and forward heavy vehicle movements
• Coordinate drivers and act as their primary contact for day-to-day operational matters
• Monitor fleet movements, delays and turnaround times and follow up where required
• Maximise fleet utilisation, identify backload opportunities and minimise unnecessary empty running
• Adjust allocations around changing operational requirements, driver hours, maintenance and breakdowns
• Coordinate truck availability with internal operational and maintenance teams
• Maintain oversight of driver fatigue, vehicle mass and relevant Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Maintain accurate allocation records and complete required transport documentation
• Communicate with internal sites and external delivery locations regarding movements and scheduling

About You

Previous heavy vehicle transport allocation experience is essential.

You will be an experienced allocator who can think several moves ahead, make sound decisions under pressure and maintain control of a changing transport schedule. Strong communication is essential, as is the confidence to manage experienced drivers, set clear expectations and follow up performance when required.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience allocating complex heavy vehicle movements

• Strong understanding of fleet utilisation, route planning and backloading

• Knowledge of fatigue, mass and Chain of Responsibility requirements

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Confidence using Excel, vehicle tracking and transport systems

• Good knowledge of regional NSW transport operations

• HC or MC licence desirable, but not essential

Experience in bulk haulage, heavy transport, quarrying, agriculture, construction or similar operations will be highly regarded.

The Offer

• $95,000 – $105,000 + Super, depending on experience

• Company phone and laptop

• Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm

• Hybrid working arrangement available once established, up to two days per week from home

• Autonomy to manage day-to-day fleet allocation with support from the broader management team

The nature of the operation means occasional after‑hours calls or transport documentation may be required.
