Job summary

Glencore’s Mount Isa Mines Operations seeks a Principal Advisor – Training to design and implement onboarding, competency and assessment frameworks aligned with regulatory and Glencore standards. You will lead assurance across training functions and guide workforce readiness, investment priorities and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Training & Assessment, HRD or Safety-related field; Cert IV in Training & Assessment preferred.
• 10+ years in training, competency management or workforce development, with mining/heavy industry experience.
• 5+ years in senior leadership leading large, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven track record designing and implementing competency frameworks, onboarding programs and governance.
• Understanding of Queensland mining legislation and regulatory standards.
• Experience in training assurance, audit and verification methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to influence across workforce to regulators.
• Strong strategic thinking and commitment to safety and workforce capability.
• Experience managing training budgets and vendor/RTO relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement fit-for-purpose onboarding, competency provision, assessment and verification aligned to regulatory requirements and Glencore standards.
• Drive assurance across training functions to ensure systems are effective and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Provide strategic counsel on workforce readiness, training investment priorities and competency risk to site leadership.
• Lead a large team of training professionals and build organisational capability supporting safe production and operational excellence.
