Job summary

Glencore's Mount Isa Mines Operations (MIM) seeks a Principal Advisor - Training to design and implement onboarding and competency frameworks aligned to regulatory requirements and Glencore standards. The role provides strategic counsel to site leadership on workforce readiness and training investment priorities.

Leading a large training team, you will ensure effective governance, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and promote a culture focused on safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education/Training or related discipline.
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment; higher qualification preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in training, competency management or workforce development, mining/heavy industry.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role leading large teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement fit-for-purpose onboarding and competency frameworks.
• Align training to regulatory requirements and Glencore standards.
• Drive assurance across training functions to ensure effective systems.
• Provide strategic counsel on workforce readiness and training investment priorities.
• Lead a large team of training professionals and manage training budgets, vendor contracts and RTO relationships.
