Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a Senior Technical Officer to help shape the maintenance and management of our buildings and infrastructure assets. You will conduct complex inspections, assess conditions, and develop scopes and estimates for maintenance and remediation works.

This role combines technical engineering with smart inspection tech, including drones and 360-degree imagery. You will manage contracted works, ensure quality assurance, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

• Engineering, construction or building surveying knowledge and judgment.
• Experience inspecting civil/building assets.
• Knowledge of structural defects and rehabilitation practices.
• Strong digital skills with asset management and spatial systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, asset mapping and condition assessments for buildings and infrastructure assets.
• Prepare scopes, estimates, plans and schedules for maintenance and remediation works.
• Use drones, photogrammetry, spatial systems and other technologies to capture and analyse asset information.
• Coordinate contractors and undertake project, procurement and quality assurance activities.
• Identify risks and provide accurate technical reports and advice to stakeholders.
