Brisbane City Council is hiring a Senior Engineering Technical Officer to lead the assessment and resolution of complex road corridor and footway permit applications. You will guide technical decisions, ensure compliance with legislation and council policies, and share knowledge across the team to improve service delivery.

The role focuses on delivering senior technical engineering expertise, coaching staff, and maintaining high standards for safety and practicality in outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience applying engineering principles to road works, footways, and transport projects.
• Ability to manage high volumes of work with competing priorities and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to quickly learn Council policies and applicable legislation.
• Proficiency with common computer systems and software used in engineering teams.
