Job summary
Fremantle Ports is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in Fremantle, WA, to lead the Kwinana Bulk Terminal Redevelopment. The role demands senior technical leadership across major resources, industrial, marine or complex capital projects, ensuring safety, functionality and long-term asset performance.
You will provide strategic structural engineering direction, govern standards, oversee risk management and review critical deliverables across design, construction, commissioning and handover,
Qualifications
- Significant structural engineering design experience within major resources, industrial, marine or capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience operating as a senior technical authority on complex infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience leading engineering teams and managing external engineering consultants.
- Strong capability in engineering governance, technical assurance and engineering risk management.
- Experience influencing strategic project decisions at senior leadership level.
- Ability to navigate complex technical interfaces across engineering, operations, maintenance and asset management.
- Bulk materials handling project experience would be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering across all phases of the Kwinana Bulk Terminal Redevelopment.
- Act as the project's senior technical authority for structural engineering matters.
- Lead engineering optioneering and the technical evaluation of major engineering solutions.
- Govern engineering standards, technical requirements, assurance, verification and validation.
- Review and approve key engineering deliverables as the project progresses through stage gates.
- Provide technical oversight during detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Lead the management of structural engineering risks and complex multidisciplinary design issues.
- Set technical and performance requirements for procurement activities and evaluate consultant and contractor submissions.
- Provide authoritative technical advice to Project Directors, Steering Committees and Executive stakeholders.
- Direct consultants, contractors and engineering resources working across the project.
