Job summary

6 HEAD in the heart of The Rocks is seeking talented Sommeliers to join a premium steakhouse concept with a 280-bottle wine list and extensive beverage offering. You will immerse in intensive training and help launch a new restaurant, delivering exceptional service to guests.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of premium wine/beverage experience, WSET Level 2, and a passion for wine education. RSA and CMS credentials are favorable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of premium wine & beverage experience.
• WSET Level 2 required.
• CMS Sommeliers Course advantageous – Introductory/Certified.
• RSA Certificate/Competency Card current.
• Strong knowledge of Australian, New Zealand and international wines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with superior wine and beverage knowledge to enhance satisfaction.
• Lead, develop and educate the Beverage Team daily.
• Deliver wine and beverage service in line with the restaurant's standards.
• Increase spend per head through upselling premium products.
• Ensure wine and beverages are of the highest quality and presentation.
• Coordinate with Bar Team on stock control and quality delivery.
• Record and reduce beverage wastage; assist with stock takes.
• Assist with wine ordering, cellar management and training staff.
