Job summary

Industrial Scientific in Perth, WA is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to deliver advanced technical support, repair, calibration, and commissioning for gas detection products across Australia and New Zealand.

You will lead field service activities, support connected safety solutions, and mentor technicians while working with sales, customer success, and global service teams to ensure exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Degree, Diploma, Trade Qualification, or equivalent in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial instrumentation, technical service or field service.
Strong troubleshooting and repair capability across electronic, mechanical, and software-integrated systems.
Experience supporting industrial customers in mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities or related industries.
Willingness and ability to travel within Australia & New Zealand; current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, calibrate, test, and certify gas detection products to company standards.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for portable & fixed gas detection solutions.
Perform commissioning, installation, validation, and readiness assessments at customer sites.
Deliver onsite technical support to diverse sectors; respond to escalations and complex issues.
Support connected safety software and digital solutions; assist with configuration and training.
Mentor junior technicians and support product certification programs.
Contribute to continuous improvement and safety initiatives within the service centre.
