Job summary

Canva is seeking senior production engineers to join the Production Engineering Group. You will own long-term reliability for high‑risk domains, write and refactor production software, and partner closely with product teams to shape roadmaps and scale platforms.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues to reduce incidents, improve recovery times, and deliver systems that scale with demand. You will work across distributed systems, JVM-based or similar languages, and cloud infrastructure to ensure

Qualifications

• Experience owning reliability work within large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience embedded with product teams, not siloed in a platform group.
• Proven production software delivery in Java/Go/Rust or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems patterns and failure modes.
• Ability to navigate and fix large codebases quickly.
• Proven ability to influence improvements through trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own long-term accountability for high-risk technical domains within Canva's production stack.
• Write production software and instrument/refactor to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers through pairing, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Drive fewer incidents, faster recovery, and lower latency to improve customer experience.
• Contribute platform-level improvements that scale beyond the immediate team.
• Operate with a systems-first mindset to raise the quality of the entire stack.
• Develop trusted relationships with teams to accelerate shipping with confidence.
