Job summary

Canva’s Production Engineering team seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Embedded group, guiding senior engineers through high-impact production challenges. You’ll influence across teams, shape engagement models, and help scale capabilities and reliability across Canva’s platform.

You’ll coach engineers, build trust with leaders, drive technical direction, and foster an environment where experienced engineers can grow and deliver value at scale.

Qualifications

• Led highly experienced software engineers and tech leads through complex work and coached others.
• You've worked in environments where reliability, scalability and production risk mattered.
• You've built trust from a standing start where influence mattered more than hierarchy.
• You've led significant technical initiatives spanning multiple teams or groups.
• You've persuaded teams to change how they build or operate software.
• You communicate technical trade-offs to senior stakeholders while enabling engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Embedded engagement teams, shaping direction and delivering outcomes.
• Influence cross-organisations to align on architecture and priorities.
• Define engagement models, success metrics and learning, and measure impact.
• Coach and develop senior engineers, growing technical and organisational capability.
