Job summary

Absolute Payroll in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Payroll or Senior Payroll Officer to own end-to-end payroll, ensure accuracy, and act as the go-to for pay compliance and reporting. The role starts as a 3-month fixed-term contract with a high chance of permanency.

You will work in a small team, process end-to-end payroll cycles, prepare required reports, and support audits while mentoring junior staff. Flexible hours and a central CBD location are highlighted benefits.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing across weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end cycles.
• Prepare management reports and reconcile payroll with finance systems.
• Support audits and liaise with auditors and agencies.
• Mentor junior payroll staff and stay updated on payroll legislation changes.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for the client.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reports.
• Handle month-end and year-end reconciliations between payroll and finance systems.
• Deliver payroll tax filings, superannuation, and year-end reporting.
• Support internal and external audits and liaise with agencies.
• Mentor and support junior payroll staff, promoting best practice.
• Keep the business ahead of payroll legislation changes and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Get involved in process improvement and general finance admin as needed.
