Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group in Sydney NSW is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with remote Australia-wide option. You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across fortnightly and monthly cycles during a major systems transformation.

The role requires strong Preceda experience, knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, and ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll in medium to large organisations
• Strong hands-on experience using Preceda
• Experience working with time and attendance systems
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
• Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
• Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage payroll deadlines
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience within manufacturing or similar complex payroll environments

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls
• Maintain payroll records and employee data
• Process new starters, terminations, salary increases and back pays

Senior Payroll Officer | 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Sydney NSW or Remote Anywhere in Australia

Work Type: 6 Months Casual Contract, Full Time Hours

An established global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to provide immediate operational support during a major payroll systems transformation.

This role requires a payroll professional who can quickly take ownership of assigned payrolls and independently manage end-to-end payroll processing. You will play a key role in maintaining business-as-usual payroll operations while supporting a period of organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls
• Maintain payroll records and employee data
• Process new starters, terminations, salary increases and back pays
• Interpret awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
