Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role supports a major payroll systems transformation, handling end-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume environment.

Location can be Sydney NSW or remote anywhere in Australia, with a focus on autonomy and timely delivery. The candidate will manage end-to-end payroll, interpret awards and enterprise agreements, ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, and support month-end activities

Qualifications

• Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll in medium to large organisations.
• Hands-on experience using Preceda.
• Experience working with time and attendance systems.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation.
• Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet payroll deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience within manufacturing or similar complex payroll environments.
• Workday experience.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
• Maintain payroll records and employee data.

An established global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to provide immediate operational support during a major payroll systems transformation.

This role requires a payroll professional who can quickly take ownership of assigned payrolls and independently manage end-to-end payroll processing. You will play a key role in maintaining business-as-usual payroll operations while supporting a period of organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls
• Maintain payroll records and employee data
• Process new starters, terminations, salary increases and back pays
• Interpret awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
