Job summary

Michael Page Australia is seeking a Payroll Officer for a 12-month contract in Logan, Queensland, offering a hybrid work model with two days a week from home. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly cycles, maintain staff records, and ensure accuracy and compliance across all payroll activities.

The successful candidate will bring experience in high-volume payroll within a complex environment and strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, with collaboration

  • Experience in a high-volume payroll officer role in a complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of termination calculations, superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Available for a 12-month contract.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Maintaining employee records including commencements, terminations and employment changes
  • Processing complex payroll calculations including leave, overtime, superannuation and statutory obligations
  • Managing PAYG, payroll tax, workers compensation and long service leave requirements
  • Responding to payroll-related employee enquiries and providing exceptional customer service
  • Supporting payroll system workflows and data integrity
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations and compliance activities
  • Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
