Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for its Pilgangoora operation. This permanent full-time role is based on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and focuses on mine design, ore reserves, and scheduling to optimise open-pit extraction using Surpac, Vulcan, and Alastair Scheduler.

You will lead the Mining Engineering team, manage production reporting, and drive safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-efficiency in planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Experience leading a Mining Engineering team (5–10 years).
• Proficiency with Surpac and Vulcan for mine design and planning.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with mine scheduling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing annual mining plan and schedule.
• Coordinate daily mining contractor activities and inspections.
• Ensure pit dewatering and groundwater monitoring.
• Develop and maintain mine planning procedures and systems.
• Compile daily, weekly and month-end reporting.
• Provide commentary for management reports.
