Job summary

Gold Fields in Western Australia invites an experienced underground mining engineer to join our Technical Services team on a FIFO roster from Perth. You will lead production planning and drive safe, efficient extraction across underground operations, aligning with short- to medium-term targets and site standards.

Qualifications

• WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency is desirable.
• Degree qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Supervisory or management training.
• Experience mentoring and developing a team of mining engineers.
• Solid underground engineering experience across all production phases, preferably in gold.
• Valid manual driver's licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining software; Deswik experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with targets.
• Manage stope design and drill and blast planning to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
• Develop, implement, and record mine information to support safe and economic delivery of targets.
• Prepare end of month reports and ensure compliance reporting.
• Reconcile mined plan versus actual to identify areas for improvement.
• Lead production and operational mining teams, including mentoring of engineers.
• Identify risks and develop programs to eliminate or minimise them.
• Contribute to business and cultural improvement initiatives that lift performance and growth, encouraging team participation.
• Promote continuous improvement within the Technical Services Department.
• Monitor and report on Actual vs. Schedule and Budget performance (physicals and costs).
• Act as Deputy Underground Manager when required.
