Job summary

WA Mining Exams is seeking an experienced Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist to cover parental leave from November. This contract role offers exposure to a well-established WA mining operation with a strong geology team and a handover designed to set you up for success.

You will report to the Geology Manager, lead two geologists, and stay hands-on across day-to-day technical and operational duties. The site operates an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth and uses Surpac, Leapfrog and Acquire.

Qualifications

• Senior experience in open pit geology in a production environment.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor geologists on site.
• Strong grade control, ore/waste delineation and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with geological modelling, interpretation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide geological support to a producing open pit operation.
• Lead and mentor a team of mine geologists.
• Oversee grade control and ore/waste delineation activities.
• Support geological modelling, interpretation and reconciliation.
• Maintain data quality and geological reporting standards.
• Collaborate with Mining, Processing and Technical Services teams.
