Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior or Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer based in Sydney, NSW. You will lead safety case activities across defence platforms and infrastructure, supported by a global team, with opportunities to grow the Australian business.

You have a proven track record in safety, ideally within defence and nuclear domains, and hold or are eligible for Australian Government security clearance. Expect a challenging, growth-oriented role with flexible/hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in safety, ideally within defence and nuclear domains.
• Hold or be eligible for Australian Government security clearance.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Willing to expand knowledge in a stretching but supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
• Collaborate with diverse customers and stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions.
• Contribute to development of complex project proposals and securing new business.
• Provide Engineering support for design, construction and maintenance of defence platforms and infrastructure.
• Forecast monitor and report upon engineering performance and identify risks.
• Work closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
• Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis.
• Producing safety reports and other technical documents.
• Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
