AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer in Australia, based from either Adelaide or Sydney. You will provide safety case leadership, guidance and delivery across defence projects for a mature global team.

Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer, as we gear up for future workloads and current project wins. Based from either Adelaide or Sydney, you will work alongside talented colleagues across all disciplines in providing safety case leadership, support and delivery. Supported by a mature global team, the successful candidate will benefit from guidance and experience of technical leads from other parts of the global business to grow the Australian business.

Your role

We want you to help us deliver the most significant defence-related programs across Australia. You will be involved with all aspects of safety case support, including:

• Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
• Collaborate with diverse customers and stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions
• Contribute to the development of complex project proposals and participate in the process of securing new business opportunities or expanding the scope of existing projects.
• Provide Engineering support for design, construction and maintenance of defence platforms and infrastructure inline with stakeholder requirements and timeframes.
• Forecast monitor and report upon engineering performance and to identify and mitigate technical and project risks.
• Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
• Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis.
• Producing safety reports and other technical documents.
• Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.

About you

• You have a proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domains.

• Hold or eligible to obtain Australian Government security clearance
• A good understanding of the Australian government defence ecosystem
• An excellent communicator, verbal (active listener) and written (able to write concisely).
