Job summary

Mincore in Melbourne is seeking two Mechanical Package Engineers at mid to senior level to lead mechanical equipment packages for mining and mineral processing projects. Roles are permanent, full-time, with opportunities to coordinate acrossMechanical, piping, civil, structural and electrical teams.

The successful candidates will have 5–20 years in mechanical packages, EPCM or engineering consultancy experience, and strong vendor management.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining/mineral processing or similar heavy industrial projects.
• Experience in EPCM or engineering consultancy environments.
• Experience managing mechanical equipment packages.
• Knowledge of specifications, RFQs, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
• Mineral processing plant experience; slurry pumps and piping exposure preferred.
• CPEng or working towards it desirable for senior role.

Responsibilities

• Managing equipment packages including pumps, feeders, conveyors, screens, cyclones, agitators and thickeners
• Preparing datasheets, material requisitions and scopes of work for RFQ
• Completing technical bid evaluations and preparing recommendations for award
• Reviewing and managing vendor data and documentation
• Coordinating vendor information with mechanical, piping, civil, structural and electrical teams
• Working directly with clients, vendors and subconsultants
• Coordinating with our engineering teams in Melbourne and overseas
• For the senior role, leading packages independently and supporting junior engineers
