Job summary

WSP Australia Pty Limited in Adelaide seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years in mining to deliver a diverse portfolio of sustaining capital projects. You will lead mechanical work packages, mentor junior engineers, engage with clients, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams from concept through execution.

Ideal candidates have degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong fixed-plant knowledge, and chartership progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and professional registration where applicable.
• 10+ years in mining, minerals processing, heavy industrial, or resources sectors.
• Strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment and mining infrastructure.
• Experience delivering sustaining capital, brownfields, or operational site projects.
• Proven ability to lead engineering packages and manage stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide Senior mechanical engineering delivery across sustaining capital and brownfields projects.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, specs, scopes of work, and designs.
• Provide technical leadership for fixed plant and materials handling systems.
• Support studies, investigations, detailed design and execution phases.
• Mentor and support developing engineers within the Adelaide team.
• Engage with clients to understand operational challenges and solutions.
• Coordinate with process, civil, structural, electrical, and project teams.
• Support project planning, budgeting, risk management, and delivery of work packages.
• Participate in site visits, condition assessments, commissioning and reviews.
