Job summary

Mineral Resources is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the Mechanical Engineering team in our Osborne Park office, WA. You will guide design, equipment selection, fabrication, installation, and day-to-day project management, ensuring technical integrity and adherence to standards across delivery.

Responsibilities include planning with the Engineering Manager, equipment selection, handling change management, drafting PFDs/P&IDs, documenting designs, and facilitating safety

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering required.
• 10+ years of industry experience.
• 5+ years in a senior engineering role.
• Mining project experience from design to commissioning.
• Experience with materials handling, crushing, screening and conveying design.
• Experience with slurry systems and wet plant design.
• Pumps and piping sizing based on mass balance and criteria.
• Bulk storage/handling facility design including stockpiles and feeders.
• Experience with Helix or Sidewinder software.
• Strong computer literacy and hydraulic simulation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and plan projects with Engineering Manager to clarify technical scope.
• Select technical equipment aligned with process design criteria.
• Act as a focal point for site change management.
• Complete/Review Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Prepare project design documentation.
• Lead safety in design reviews and cross-discipline collaboration.
• Coordinate with internal/external designers and detailers.
• Assist with material purchasing and PO issuance.
• Develop revisions to discipline drawings, specs and templates.
