Mincore in Melbourne is seeking two Mechanical Package Engineers at mid to senior level to lead mechanical equipment packages for mining and mineral processing projects. Roles are permanent, full-time, with opportunities to coordinate acrossMechanical, piping, civil, structural and electrical teams.
The successful candidates will have 5–20 years in mechanical packages, EPCM or engineering consultancy experience, and strong vendor management.
Mincore is looking for two Mechanical Package Engineers to join our Melbourne team as we continue to grow our mining and mineral processing project workload.
We are looking for candidates at two levels:
Mechanical Package Engineer – 5–10 years’ experience
Senior Mechanical Package Engineer – 10–20 years’ experience
Both are permanent, full-time positions and we are looking for people who can start as soon as possible.
You will be responsible for mechanical equipment packages from specification through to procurement and vendor coordination.
Your work will include:
Managing equipment packages including pumps, feeders, conveyors, screens, cyclones, agitators and thickeners
Preparing datasheets, material requisitions and scopes of work for RFQ
Completing technical bid evaluations and preparing recommendations for award
Reviewing and managing vendor data and documentation
Coordinating vendor information with mechanical, piping, civil, structural and electrical teams
Working directly with clients, vendors and subconsultants
Coordinating with our engineering teams in Melbourne and overseas
For the senior role, leading packages independently and supporting junior engineers
We are looking for Mechanical Engineers with solid experience in mining, mineral processing or similar heavy industrial projects.
Ideally, you will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience working in an EPCM or engineering consultancy environment
Experience managing mechanical equipment packages
Good knowledge of specifications, RFQs, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation
Mineral processing plant experience
Experience with slurry pumps and piping or bulk materials handling would be well regarded
Gold, CIL/leach or comminution experience would be an advantage
Good communication skills and the ability to deal directly with clients and vendors
CPEng or working towards it is desirable for the senior role
These are permanent positions based in our Melbourne office, working across Mincore's Australian and international mining projects.
You'll be joining a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to work directly with our clients and vendors and take ownership of your packages.
