Job summary

Recruit Australia Professionals in South East Melbourne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead mining and process equipment projects, moving from concept through to completion.

You will work hands-on on pilot-scale test rigs, process skids and related equipment, coordinating fabrication, assembly and testing across Australia and overseas.

This permanent on-site role offers a competitive salary package in the 135k–150k range.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial, mining, process or specialised mechanical equipment.
• Experience taking equipment from design through manufacture, assembly and testing.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work on the shop floor with tradespeople.

Responsibilities

• Managing mechanical equipment projects from concept through to completion.
• Working with pilot-scale test rigs, process skids, pumps, gauges and associated equipment.
• Coordinating fabrication, machining, fitting and assembly.
• Providing direction and technical support to tradespeople on the workshop floor.
• Developing test setups and overseeing equipment testing.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and equipment issues.
• Preparing equipment for shipment to customers.
• Assisting with equipment layouts, modelling and general mechanical design.
