Job summary

Recruit Inc Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join its Melbourne-based team, focusing on mining and process equipment. You will manage projects from concept to completion, work with pilot-scale rigs and process skids, and lead fabrication and assembly while guiding trades on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualifications required.
• Experience with industrial/mining equipment.
• Hands-on fabrication, machining and assembly experience.
• Experience taking equipment from design through manufacture and testing.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and shop-floor leadership.
• Ability to direct tradespeople and provide technical direction.
• Willingness to work on-site on the shop floor.
• Excellent project coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical equipment projects from concept through to completion.
• Work with pilot-scale test rigs and process skids.
• Coordinate fabrication, machining, fitting and assembly.
• Provide direction to tradespeople on the workshop floor.
• Develop test setups and oversee equipment testing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues.
• Inspect and sign-off before dispatch.
• Assist with equipment layouts, modelling and general mechanical design.
• Support other engineering projects across industries when required.
• Prepare equipment for shipment to customers in Australia and overseas.
