Job summary

Mincore is seeking Mechanical Package Engineers to join the Melbourne team for permanent, full-time roles in mining and mineral processing.

Two levels are available: Mechanical Package Engineer (5–10 years) and Senior Mechanical Package Engineer (10–20 years). Successful candidates will oversee mechanical equipment packages from specification through procurement and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in mining, mineral processing or similar heavy industrial projects.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in EPCM or engineering consultancy.
• Experience managing mechanical equipment packages.
• Knowledge of specifications, RFQs, bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
• Experience with slurry pumps and piping or bulk materials handling.
• Gold, CIL/leach or comminution experience would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to deal with clients and vendors.
• CPEng or working towards it is desirable for the senior role.

Responsibilities

• Manage equipment packages including pumps, feeders, conveyors, screens, cyclones, agitators and thickeners.
• Prepare datasheets, material requisitions and scopes of work for RFQ.
• Complete technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations for award.
• Review and manage vendor data and documentation.
• Coordinate vendor information with mechanical, piping, civil, structural and electrical teams.
• Work directly with clients, vendors and subconsultants.
• Coordinate with engineering teams in Melbourne and overseas.
• For the senior role, lead packages independently and support junior engineers.
