Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Perth Buildings team. This senior role blends technical leadership with business development, client engagement and project delivery.

You will lead from the front on complex building services design, HVAC, heat load calculations, equipment sizing and coordination, while mentoring junior engineers and building strong relationships with architects, contractors and end users.

Qualifications

• Proven design consultancy experience with client engagement and project leadership.
• Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery.
• Strong knowledge of building services design and related codes.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with client relationship growth.
• Working knowledge of Revit and related design software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Collaborative, can-do attitude in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing project delivery with high-quality outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Drive business development by identifying and pursuing new projects and nurturing client partnerships in buildings.
• Develop HVAC engineering, heat loads, equipment sizing, reticulation and coordination documentation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers to foster excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient, cost-effective solutions.
• Contribute to in-house design meetings and overall mechanical team strategy.
• Uphold Stantec professional standards and quality procedures.
