Job summary

Stantec in Perth seeks a Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead buildings projects, delivering high‑quality HVAC design and strong client engagement. This senior role blends technical leadership with business development, mentoring, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.

You will manage multiple projects, lead client relationships, and help grow the buildings team while upholding Stantec standards and project quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a design consultancy environment with a track record of client engagement and project leadership.
• Strong Mechanical Engineering background with building services design focus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships in buildings.
• Develop technically sound HVAC engineering, heat load calculations, equipment sizing, and documentation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient, cost-effective solutions with quality outcomes.
• Contribute to in-house design/project meetings and to mechanical team strategy and culture.
• Adhere to Stantec professional standards and quality procedures.
