Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead major building services projects across Australia. The role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, and involves guiding technical excellence while mentoring engineers and managing client relationships.

You will oversee projects from feasibility to handover, ensure design quality and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, innovative solutions for high-profile buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant building services consulting experience.
• Proven experience leading complex building projects.
• Knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards and regulations is highly regarded.
• Expertise in LV power and lighting design with PowerCAD and AGi32/DIALux.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex electrical building services projects.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients and grow long-term relationships.
• Manage projects from feasibility through design to construction and handover.
• Provide technical oversight and QA across project teams.
• Prepare and review reports, specs, calculations and design docs.
• Mentor engineers and graduates to support professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated designs.
• Contribute to business development and identify repeat/new work.
