Job summary

Westpac in Sydney seeks a Senior Manager, Protective Security to lead the ongoing development of the bank's physical security risk management framework, protecting people, customers, assets and operations from threats. You will manage risk assessment methodologies, incident response and security governance in line with industry standards.

The role is based in Sydney, permanent and full-time, with a hybrid working model and flexibility during major events or incidents.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in law enforcement, defence, government security, intelligence, or corporate security environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading physical security risk management, incident response, and security governance activities.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams, stakeholders, and complex security issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present security assessments and recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including engagement with law enforcement, government, and industry partners.
• Ability to apply sound judgement, make decisions under pressure, and lead responses to significant security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical security risk management across sites, branches, data centres, and major events.
• Oversee security incident responses and governance activities.
• Strengthen protective security capability through policy development and supplier management.
• Engage stakeholders including law enforcement, government and industry partners.
• Support major events, executive protection, crisis response and external engagement.
• Provide guidance on emerging threats and risk mitigation strategies.
