Job summary

Westpac in Sydney seeks a Manager in Enterprise Functions Assurance, Risk to oversee independent assurance reviews across Finance, People, Legal & Secretariat, Group Sustainability and Risk. You will test controls, analyze processes and translate findings into actionable recommendations, partnering with stakeholders to strengthen risk management outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in assurance, internal audit, operational risk, or risk advisory, ideally within banking or financial services.
• Experience assessing risks, controls, and remediation outcomes, including control design and operating effectiveness testing.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to provide independent review and constructive challenge.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and identifying systemic issues, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex findings into clear insights.
• Experience performing data analytics-based testing or automated control testing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support independent assurance reviews across multiple business areas, including Finance, People, Legal & Secretariat, Group Sustainability and Risk.
• Dive into processes, test controls, uncover meaningful insights and work with stakeholders to strengthen risk management outcomes.
• Contribute to practical, evidence-based assurance and drive continuous improvement across the control environment.
