Job summary

Bauen Civil Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable Water Cart Operator for a large-scale civil subdivision project in the Toowoomba region. The role starts in September 2026 for a 12-month program, focusing on dust suppression, moisture control, and safe earthworks operations.

You will report to the Site Manager and operate a water cart/roller across multiple sites around Toowoomba and Brisbane, with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on civil sites.
• Confidence with GPS/3D machine control systems.
• Relevant tickets/licences for plant operated.

Responsibilities

• Dust suppression across site roads, work areas and stockpiles.
• Support earthworks and compaction crews to achieve optimal moisture content.
• Pre-start checks, basic maintenance and fault reporting.
• Manage water cart supply from site water sources.
• Follow WHS and environmental requirements.
• Work with Site Manager on watering needs and changing site conditions.
• Maintain records of water usage and operating hours.
• Labour support to keep projects on track.

Job description

You'll be based on a large-scale civil subdivision project in the Toowoomba region, mobilising from September 2026 as part of a 12-month program involving earthworks, roads, drainage and services installation. Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll operate a water cart/Roller to support dust suppression and compaction across the site, keeping earthworks crews moving safely and productively.

Key responsibilities

Dust suppression across site roads, work areas and stockpiles

Support earthworks and compaction crews to achieve optimal moisture content

Pre-start checks, basic maintenance and prompt fault reporting

Manage water cart supply from site water sources

Follow WHS and environmental requirements

Work with the Site Manager on watering needs and changing site conditions

Maintain accurate records of water usage and operating hours

Labour when required to keep projects on track

About you

3+ years' experience on Civil sites

Confidence using machine guidance/GPS/3D machine control systems

Relevant tickets/licences for the plant operated

Current White Card and Driver's License

Understand WHS requirements on civil construction sites

Responsible and trustworthy — reliable, punctual, and gets the job done

Full-time salary with great pay and benefits: $100k–$115k + Super
