Job summary

Workfast is seeking experienced Plant Operators for an ongoing civil project located south of Rockhampton. Join a motivated team and operate GPS Dozers, GPS Excavators, Haul Trucks, Water Carts, or Rollers on a major earthworks project.

Starting mid-September, this ongoing role offers long-term opportunities with penalties included in the hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience in civil earthworks or mining.
• Experience operating GPS Dozers, GPS Excavators, Haul Trucks, Water Carts, or Rollers.
• Clean Police Record is essential site requirement.
• Relevant RII competencies or nationally recognised tickets for your machine.
• Strong safety focus, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate allocated plant machinery safely and efficiently (GPS Dozer, GPS Excavator, Haul Truck, Water Cart, or Roller).
• Conduct civil works including GPS final trim/cut and fill, bulk earthworks, compaction, haulage, and dust suppression.
• Maintain haul roads and work areas to safe operating standards.
• Complete pre-start checks, report defects, and ensure machinery is well maintained.
• Follow all site safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 12 months' experience in civil earthworks or mining.
• Demonstrated experience operating one or more of the following: GPS Dozers, GPS Excavators, Haul Trucks, Water Carts, or Rollers.
• Must have a clean Police Record (essential site requirement).
