Job summary

Bauen Civil Pty Ltd is recruiting for a hands-on pipe layer lead on a large-scale subdivision project in the Toowoomba region. You’ll mobilise from September 2026, guiding a small crew in earthworks, drainage and services installation while reporting to the Site Manager.

You will read civil drawings, set pipe grades, and ensure WHS compliance, delivering work to spec and keeping the program on track. Attractive rates and ongoing employment are on offer.

Qualifications

• Hands-on pipe laying experience on civil or subdivision projects.
• Confident in reading civil drawings and grade/fall requirements.
• Ready to lead a small crew and set a strong example.
• Fair understanding of WHS requirements in construction.

Job description

You’ll be based on a large-scale civil subdivision project in the Toowoomba region, mobilising from September 2026 as part of a 12-month program involving earthworks, roads, drainage and services installation. Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll lead a small pipe laying crew and be the go-to person for pipework in the ground, to grade and to program.

Key responsibilities

• Lay sewer, stormwater and water reticulation pipework to drawings and spec
• Set out pipe grade, fall and alignment using laser levels and survey data
• Build pits, structures and other concrete elements
• Lead and coordinate a small crew of labourers and machine operators
• Run prestart, toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Keep the crew safe and compliant with WHS and environmental requirements
• Inspect completed pipework and manage any rectification
• Coordinate materials, plant and program with the Site Manager
• Mentor junior crew members and help build a strong site culture

About you

• Hands‑on experience laying pipe on civil or subdivision projects
• Confident reading civil drawings and grade/fall requirements
• Ready to step up, lead a small crew and lead by example
• Keen to grow your career with an expanding SEQ civil contractor
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements
• Reliable, hands‑on, and proud of the work you deliver
• Current White Card and Driver's License
