Job summary
NEPEAN Longwall is seeking a highly experienced Senior Service Engineer - Longwall to join our Mackay-based team. This senior role focuses on expert technical support for longwall equipment and components, collaborating with customers and workshop personnel to improve performance, reliability and safety.
You will be the technical authority on longwall systems, with hands-on experience across AFCs, BSL, crushers, shields, shearers, hydraulics and drive systems.
Qualifications
- Mechanical trade qualification required.
- Minimum 5 years direct experience on longwall equipment.
- Strong knowledge of longwall components and underground operations.
- Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, assessments and failure investigations of longwall equipment.
- Lead overhaul, repair and rebuild activities.
- Provide specialist technical advice and troubleshooting support.
- Analyse equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support engineering teams with product development and reliability initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations.
- Mentor and support workshop personnel with technical expertise.
- Assist customers with maintenance strategies and equipment performance solutions.
- Ensure work is carried out safely and to high quality standards.
