Job summary

Walgett Shire Council is seeking an experienced Senior ICT Officer to manage day-to-day operations of the Council’s technology environment. You will be the principal internal ICT contact, supporting staff and Councillors while coordinating with our MSP to track and resolve issues.

Hybrid meetings and wide-ranging ICT services are part of the role. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving, customer service and communication skills, experience with Windows/Microsoft 365, and a

Qualifications

• Experience providing ICT support and administration across Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Intune, Teams and SharePoint.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues, and escalate when needed.
• Experience with external ICT providers and managing SLAs, service requests and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day ICT support and services relied on by Council staff across the Shire.
• Collaborate with the Managed Service Provider to keep systems reliable, secure and responsive.
• Monitor MSP performance, support cybersecurity and information management practices.
• Provide audio-visual support for hybrid meetings and events.
• Advise on ICT risks, service performance and improvement opportunities.
