Senior Hyperscale Data Centre Technical Services Lead

Job summary

AirTrunk in Sydney is seeking a Senior Technical Services Manager to lead maintenance of critical data centre environments. You will report to the Operations Director and guide a site-based team, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to protect uptime, safety and service levels.

You will drive preventive maintenance, manage change and incident procedures, review capacity plans, and ensure documentation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in data centres or related facilities/engineering operations
• Electrical or mechanical trade background or degree preferred
• Knowledge of local statutory regulations
• Ability to review procedural and maintenance reports, incident reports and budgets
• Ability to read single line diagrams
• Experience managing 3rd party service providers and contracts
• Familiarity with Customer Portals, BMS, CMMS, CAD
• Strong leadership and supervising small teams of technical staff
• Effective partner management
• Customer-centric approach and staff motivation
• Ability to deliver presentations
• Have Security NV1 Clearance or ability to get one (Australian sites only)

Responsibilities

• Oversee critical environment maintenance planning at data centre
• Lead, mentor, and train a team of site-based technical resources and contract management
• Coordinate with Building Services Manager on property matters
• Manage uptime and safety to meet SLAs
• Plan preventive maintenance and repairs; manage change and incident procedures
• Coordinate with development team for construction activities and testing
• Review capacity management plans for power capacity
• Maintain SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and regulatory documentation
• Ensure compliance with accreditations (ISMS, SOC2, PCI, ISO9001, ISO14001)
• Maintain regulatory compliance (environmental, building, fire, electrical, hydraulic, OH&S)
• Act as primary operational contact for customers
• Attend witness testing during commissioning
• Handle provisioning of data centre services
• Run minor capital projects
• Lead maintenance vendors and budget
• Track metrics and risks
• Conduct property inspections
• Promote operational efficiency and power/cost optimization
