Job summary

UGL – Projects-Major Projects in Melbourne seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Electrical to lead electrical packages on hyperscale data centre projects. You will manage design through commissioning, coordinating HV/LV, UPS and critical power systems while interfacing with mechanical, ICT and clients.

Reporting to the MEP Construction Manager, you’ll drive safety, quality and schedule objectives, build strong stakeholder relations and help deliver Australia’s AI and digital infrastructure future.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer supporting data centres, healthcare, defence, or other complex commercial building projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple stakeholder interfaces.
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical services packages from design through handover.
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors to meet safety, quality and schedule goals.
• Drive coordination of HV/LV systems, UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Manage interfaces with mechanical, controls, ICT, BMS and commissioning teams.
• Monitor project performance and report on schedule, cost and quality.
