Job summary

UGL – Projects-Major Projects seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead hydraulic and plumbing works on a major hyperscale data centre in Melbourne. You will manage specialist subcontractors from procurement through testing and handover, reporting to the MEP leadership and coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical, and BMS teams.

You will drive safety, quality, and schedule, applying your expertise to deliver mission-critical infrastructure for Australia’s digital future.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree required.
• Experience delivering hydraulic and plumbing packages on major construction projects.
• Data centre, hospital, or large-scale commercial project experience preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic services and BMS integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic subcontractor performance and programme execution.
• Direct installation of potable water, drainage, and sanitary systems.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil, mechanical, electrical, and BMS trades.
• Review technical submissions, shop drawings, RFIs and changes.
• Plan testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and system validation.
• Deliver handover documentation and operational readiness.
