Job summary

UGL Pty Limited in Melbourne seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead electrical services packages across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover for hyperscale data centre projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in data centres or complex building projects.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple stakeholder interfaces.
• Strong communication, planning, commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of electrical services packages from design to handover.
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors to meet safety, quality, and programme objectives.
• Drive technical coordination of HV/LV systems, generators, UPS, switchboards and critical power infrastructure.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, controls, ICT, BMS, fire and commissioning disciplines.
• Review designs for constructability and mitigate risks.
• Monitor project performance and contribute to schedule, cost, quality and reporting.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of electrical services packages from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage and coordinate electrical subcontractors to achieve safety, quality, commercial and programme objectives.
• Drive technical coordination of HV/LV systems, generators, UPS, switchboards and critical power infrastructure.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, controls, ICT, BMS, fire and commissioning disciplines.
• Review designs, identify constructability opportunities and mitigate project risks.
• Monitor project performance and contribute to schedule, cost, quality and reporting outcomes.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

You’ll bring:

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer supporting data centres, healthcare, defence, or other complex commercial building projects.
• Strong understanding of critical electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators and switchgear.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple stakeholder interfaces.
• Strong communication, planning, commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
