Job summary

UGL is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical to lead critical mechanical packages across hyperscale data centre projects in Australia. You will supervise design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, working with clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure safe, high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience delivering mechanical services packages on major construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems and building services.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple stakeholder interfaces.
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mechanical services packages from design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage and coordinate mechanical subcontractors to meet safety, quality, programme and cost objectives.
• Drive technical coordination of HVAC systems, chilled water networks and critical cooling infrastructure.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, controls, ICT, BMS, fire and commissioning disciplines.
• Review designs, identify constructability opportunities and mitigate project risks.
• Monitor project performance and contribute to schedule, cost, quality and reporting outcomes.
• Support procurement, cost management and contract administration activities.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
