Job summary

Wave International in Perth is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our expanding engineering team, supporting critical minerals and battery metals projects. You will design HV/LV electrical systems, prepare SLDs and specifications, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on site.

A degree in Electrical Engineering and CPEng status, or active pursuit toward chartered certification, are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or be actively working towards chartered certification.
• Demonstrated electrical engineering experience in mining/resources projects, with emphasis on mineral processing and surface infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering projects from concept through to procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Design, develop and review HV and LV electrical systems including substations and electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare and review design documentation such as single line diagrams, schematics, and termination drawings.
• Perform electrical calculations and studies: load flow, fault level, cable sizing, equipment sizing, earthing and lightning protection.
• Prepare specifications, scopes of work, datasheets and procurement documentation for equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Support on-site activities including inspections, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and maintain strong relationships.
