Job summary

Fluor Corp in Perth is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join a major EPCM project in the mining sector. The role focuses on high/medium voltage systems up to 33kV, vendor document review, and power system studies, contributing to project scope, design integrity and adherence to codes.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of WA mining experience, autonomy to work with stakeholders, and strong analytical skills for this challenging contract position.

Qualifications

• Australian accredited 4-year engineering degree.
• 8-12 years WA iron ore or similar HV/LV systems experience up to 33kV.
• Experience to review vendor technical documents and drawings.
• Experience with power system studies including load flow, short circuit and harmonics.
• Familiarity Australian and international Standards & codes studies including developing MTOs/Lists.
• Familiar with cable sizing and schedule.
• Able to work autonomously and communicate effectively with management, co-workers, client and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems with attention to detail.
• Experience in software design tools such as Smart Plant, DIgSILENT Power Factory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, CDEGS etc. is desirable.
